︎Aiming AidsWith the help in aiming players will lose the sense of feeling in shooting games. For the industry, the tendency to put helping mechanisms is bad for fps games.

Ideations
︎Circle Gun
I try to make a controller that does not look like a real gun, but feels like a real gun. At last I focus on the circle shape. the fold-able shoulder stock can provide better stability.
︎Performance
The aiming system is inspired by the arcade games. Players should hold and aim it like a real gun, and there is a laser which can actually shows the players where are they aiming at.
Phase 1.0
︎Circle Gun
Developed from the circle gun, I researched more about the real guns. For the rifles, instead of both hands holding vertically, we actually put left hand horizontally.
︎Foot Charging Base
Other than walking, there are crouching, prostrating and jumping, and some games have special moves. In the new design, the sphere surface allows several moving dimensions which can imitate more moves.
Phase 2.0
︎11 Classic Weapons
Including the rifle, there are 11 normal weapons in most fps games. The first design can only imitate one of them. For the second version, I try to put all 11 weapons into one controller, thus players can switch the weapons with analog moves and hold them in a realistic way.
︎Wearable Sensor
People usually play console games in the living room, while sitting casually. Instead of asking players to sit up, the wearable sock-like motion sensor allows player to control the character while lying on the sofa.
Phase 3.0
︎1 to 5
However, if I force everything into one controller, I will lose certain features of different weapons for sure. To solve the problem, I divide the 11 weapons into 5 groups according to the holding posture, and make them all reload in their unique way.
︎Holder & Motion Capture
To play with 5 controllers, a quick accessible holder system is necessary. The way that real soldiers carry the weapons is that there are 7 spots on their backpacks and belts to hold the gear. So I come up with the external skeleton like system, to hold the gears, capture leg movements, and also send signals to the console.
